Ken Hyde
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area
Ken Hyde has a B.S. from Brigham Young University and a Master's of Science Degree from Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University (Kingsville). He currently serves as the Chief of Science and Resource Management at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Rainbow Bridge National Monument. Initial assignments include participating in the LTEMP EIS reviews, Glen Canyon Off-road Vehicle Plan/EIS, updating the NPS/BLM Memorandum of Understanding related to Grazing, and oversight of a diverse cultural and natural resource program. He has also served as Chief of Resource Management at Big Thicket National Preserve, Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, Wind Cave National Park, and John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. In addition he served as a Wildlife Biologist at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Prior to his NPS career he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in several states as a wildlife biologist, range specialist, salmon restoration specialist, and district conservationist.
