Steve Wolff, State of Wyoming

Mr. Wolff currently serves at the Colorado River Coordinator for the Interstate Streams Commission with the Wyoming State Engineer’s Office. He is the primary technical representative to numerous interstate bodies responsible for Compact compliance and other water management activities within the Colorado River Basin. He is also responsible for the development of policy recommendations on Colorado River issues for consideration by Wyoming’s Upper Basin Compact Commissioner. He’s involved in negotiating interstate water management actions, defending Wyoming state positions and/or briefing Congressional delegation and committee staff, and developing briefing documents for the Governor’s office. In 2011 he was appointed by Wyoming Governor Matt Mead to serve a six-year term as a trustee on the Wyoming Retirement Board. The Board oversees the Wyoming public retirement system which is responsible for the pension plans of most all public employees in the state with a current investment portfolio of $7.5 billion.

He received a Ph.D. in Public Administration & Policy of Natural Resources from Virginia Tech in 1994, and an M.S. in Water Resources/Hydrology in 1987 and a B.S. in Fisheries Biology in 1983, both from the University of Wyoming .
