- Southern Nevada is 90% contingent on the Colorado River. Our water portfolio is not very diversified.
- Our community has made significant conservation achievements.
- Our community lead the nation in population growth for many years.
- CRC's energy portfolio only consists of 5-7% CRSP/Glen Canyon hydropower--- the majority is Hoover, Parker-Davis power.

- Q: What is the CRC / SNWA connection? A: The CRC is a State authorized agency responsible for securing and protecting Nevada's rights and interests in the Colorado River and in electric power generated by the river. The SNWA is polictical subdivision of the State of Nevada and is responsible for addressing Southern Nevada's water needs on a regional basis. The CRC and the SNWA work cooperatively to effectively manage Colorador River water resources for the State of Nevada and water users in Southern Nevada.

• Nevada is #2 in paying the highest power rates in the Mountain West region o #1 is Arizona with an average monthly bill of $118.62. o #2 is Nevada with a monthly average bill of $104.10. • Nevada ranks 41st in the nation in Energy Use (NV doesn’t use a lot of energy compared to other states) • Nevada has the 18th highest energy rate in the nation • Nevada gets two-thirds of its energy from natural gas.
LVRJ_ Outlook grim for Lake Mead
- Nevada gets 300,000 acre-feet, or about 2 percent, of the 16.5 million acre-feet of Colorado River water that is parceled out each year among seven western states and Mexico.
- "If the Las Vegas Valley went one year without using any water from Lake Mead, the impact on the reservoir would be a rise of about 3 feet."
- Lake Powell to release 7.48 million acre-feet of water in water year 2014, 750,000 acre-feet less than in any year since the reservoir on the Arizona-Utah border was created. Lake Mead, which is expected to drop almost 25 feet to a record low by November 2014.
- The Las Vegas Valley uses about 180 billion gallons of water every year, enough to fill the Bellagio Fountains more than 8,000 times. Las Vegas Sun Article-LINK

- Since 2000, the surface of Lake Mead has dropped about 130 feet amid record drought on the over-appropriated Colorado River.
- The two existing pump stations no longer will be able to draw water if the lake sinks below 1,000 feet above sea level.
- Even under worst-case projections, Lake Mead’s water level is expected to stay above 1,000 feet until 2020.
